On July 20, the second day of the "Weave the Cattail" (Zapletemo rohozu) Ethno-Weekend took place in the village of Shchitky, Vinnytsia Municipal Territorial Community, bringing together participants and guests in a shared atmosphere of warmth and creativity.
During the event, leading cattail weaving masters presented their works, and everyone had the opportunity to purchase handmade items. Guests also had the chance to participate in masterclasses and contribute to the creation of a collective "cattail panel." Representatives of the Vinnytsia Oblast Center of Folk Art presented elements of the intangible cultural heritage of the Vinnytsia region at the "Nation's Code" (Kod Natsii) exhibition.
The concert program featured performances by various amateur ensembles, participants of the "Zoriana Mriia" (Starry Dream) Pop Art Workshop, and showcases of stylized embroidered clothing by Vinnytsia designer Olha Karpova. A true highlight was the performances by Ukrainian virtuoso musician Maksym Berezhniuk and ethno-singer and folklorist Halyna Kuryshko, who shared their talent and brought unforgettable emotions to everyone present.
Above all, we are grateful to our Defenders, whose daily efforts make it possible for us to hold such activities. Therefore, an important component of the ethno-weekend was a fundraiser to support the Ukrainian military.
The "Weave the Cattail" Ethno-Weekend stood out as an important event for promoting the elements of the intangible cultural heritage of the Vinnytsia region. The event inspired further work aimed at identifying and preserving new local cultural elements.
